About Me

Denise Alston Headshot.png

Complex information,

made clear.

Learning experience and content professional specializing in clear, accessible content and engaging learning experiences, with a background spanning learning design, technical support, customer education, and knowledge management.

My interest in communication began at a secondary school focused on creative writing, where I developed an early appreciation for storytelling and expressing ideas clearly.

Since 2017, my career has centered on helping people understand information and technology. Through roles in technical support, healthcare technology, SaaS, and government, I've explained complex concepts, documented processes, and developed resources that make information easier to navigate.

Those experiences eventually led me into learning experience design and content development, where I bring together my interests in psychology, technology, and communication.

04 / MY PHILOSOPHY

Start with the Audience.

Understanding what people need to know, what they need to do, and where they might get stuck is the foundation of my work. Whether I’m designing a course, developing documentation, or organizing support content, my goal is to create experiences that are clear, accessible, practical, and easy to navigate.

Curious what that looks like in practice?
